First Post; New Photos & Photography News!

Published on February 20, 2025.

Welcome to my blog! I’ve been hard at work between schoolwork and working part-time the past few months adding this section of the site. I’m very excited to have a blog, and I hope you will find my content interesting. I’ll be writing for people like myself — my posts will consist of adventure logs (frequent), photography content (frequent), gear reviews (infrequent), coding (very infrequent), and anything else I feel like sharing (infrequent). In general though I will not be writing a blog post for every new photo I post. There’s an email newsletter for that. You can expect a post every 1-6 months for reference.

My Commitment to Quality Content

As a human being, I promise to deliver quality, hand-made content in all formats on my website. As is displayed on the bottom of my site, I will never use artificial intelligence (AI) to create/generate/alter any content on this website, be it text, images, videos, etc… In fact, I don’t even use AI to write the code for this website.

Why?

I believe strongly in the important and significance of human-made art. My content is how I contribute back to humanity, and I wouldn’t ever want the value of that diminished by artificial intelligence. Everything I create is intentional and a reflection of my personal self. It would only be an insult to me to use AI to generate content and pass it off as my own.

As for the website code, I don’t think anyone has as much hands-on experience with AI as the current crop of college grads, and it’s not impressive. AI frequently makes mistakes with full confidence, and isn’t capable of understanding. This site is made with SvelteKit which recently released major version 5. AI isn’t capable of understanding the new version and can only suggest broken, outdated code. So yes, even the backend is 100% human made.

New Photos

I usually won’t make a post for new photographs, but I recently finished and posted my first round of analog photos. I’ll be doing a writeup on my college dorm development process soon. Take a look! (click the photo to learn more)
