This transfer station moved carts back and forth between tracks when going up and down the shaft. It was powered by a hoist (left, not pictured).

This mine hoist solely existed to power a transfer station, making small movements to shift carts between tracks.

Deep in an abandoned mine, a mine shaft sits still as the groundwater trickles down. It really feels like a gate to hell when you are down there. This shaft was double-tracked to support carts moving in either direction.

A working Toledo Scale sits still in an abandoned hospital power plant.

This transfer station moved carts back and forth between tracks when going up and down the shaft. It was powered by a hoist atop an incline plane (right, not pictured).

A chain of two abandoned mine locomotives sit still, parked and untouched for decades in front of the shaft.
